Frontend Web Developer

Developer Roles

We are interested in hearing from frontend developers with two years of agency experience looking to take the next step in their career.

Frontend Web Developer

We are currently seeking a full time Frontend Web Developer to join our team at Extreme. The role is fully remote, but you must have the right to work in the UK. If you happen to be local to Harrogate, our office is open and you’ll be more than welcome to make the position a mix of in office and remote working.

Our client base spans many business sectors with projects ranging from brochure sites through to large CMS, e-commerce and bespoke application development projects. The position will require working within our development team and alongside other departments on the development of new digital projects as well as with the maintenance of existing sites. We have a lot of retained clients who are looking to get the most from their digital presence, so we’re on the lookout for people who can contribute with great ideas on a functional, creative as well as technical level.

Candidates should be enthusiastic team players; primarily you will be working alongside other web developers, however you will also have regular opportunities to collaborate with our in-house designers, online marketing team and account handlers to participate in the creative development of new ideas and solutions. The position is best suited to someone who thrives in a friendly and informal environment, but can also work to deadlines.

As a development team we work across a number of platforms and technologies driven by what is most suitable for the project and the client’s requirements. Your focus will be on writing secure, maintainable and performant client-side code (HTML, CSS and Javascript) that scores highly on accessibility whilst accurately transforming design concepts using Figma and implementing functional requirements from a written specification or annotated wireframes.

You’ll work closely with Extreme’s preferred CMS, Craft CMS and strive to get the most out of it to achieve client requirements. Alongside this, you’ll need to work with Twig templating language and Craft CMS frontend API to design the frontend structure of the application and efficiently display content managed data to the client.

You’ll be aided in your role by the other members of the Development team, Project Managers and Account Managers to make sure you have the skills and support needed to make each project a success.
