We made the national shortlist at the #UKSocialMediaAwards!

Our social team secured national recognition for the third time in recent years, at the UK Social Media Awards, this time for their Paid Social strategy with fashion retailer Coco Boo Loves.

Our social team gathered for a virtual awards night at Extreme HQ to celebrate our nomination at this year’s UK Social Media Awards, which was once again held at the stunning Montcalm Marble Arch in London, though at a reduced capacity due to Covid restrictions.

That didn’t stop the team celebrating in true Extreme style - donning dancing shoes and party dresses, we made sure they had plenty of prosecco and pizza on hand as they awaited the results.

A paid social strategy that paid off...

The judges of the awards programme ‘celebrate the very best in UK social media communications and reward those using online platforms to communicate in fresh and innovative ways.’

Despite the pandemic, and the unprecedented challenges it brought with it, Coco Boo Loves - a family-run business - saw their following, brand awareness and sales all increase with the help of our paid social media expert, Laura.

We delivered a paid social strategy optimised and adapted to the ever-changing landscape of the fashion industry, incorporating viral social media trends to tap into Coco Boo’s audiences of fashion-forward women. This included a plan for tracking ROI, split-testing cold and warm audiences as well as budget management.

During 2020, where staying in replaced going out, we managed to increase sales via Instagram and Facebook, decreasing abandoned baskets by a whopping 72.6%, and further improving conversion rate.

By honing in on their “owned” social media audiences, we managed to increase their returning customer rate by 38% Year on Year.

We also make a little go a long way, meaning that ROAS is often over 1000% - in April 2021 they achieved a whopping 1115% Return on Ad Spend.

These impressive results demonstrate the power of an impactful, strategic use of paid social media even with a relatively small budget - the judges couldn’t ignore us!

It was an incredibly tough category to compete in - we were up against huge budgets and mega brands like Samsung - so we’re incredibly proud to have secured a spot on the nominees list.

Although we didn’t win on the night, it was brilliant to be recognised, and our social team had a ball. We look forward to dusting off our dancing shoes and getting back to face-to-face events when it’s safe to do so.
