Hacktoberfest 2019 x Extreme, Part VI — Siobhan's Contribution to Hover.css

If you follow our blog, you'll probably have heard a thing or two about Hacktoberfest. As part of it, Extreme's dev team have been giving back to the Open Source Software community! Siobhan's contribution is our sixth instalment — check out her work on some PRs for Hover.css.

Hacktoberfest 2019 - Siobhan's Contribution.

As the last member of the development team to contribute to our Hacktoberfest activities, I was a little bit worried that there wouldn’t be any interesting contributions I could make to the Open Source community.

I couldn’t have been more wrong.

In fact, I was able to create four Pull Requests in one day across four different projects!

My main contributions were to Hover.css, a CSS library that allows users to easily apply hover effects to links and buttons making them much more dynamic and interactive, and a project that showcases the animation features of CSS.

By adding content to these repositories, I was able to try out some new techniques I don’t usually get to implement.

Many people think that CSS is a static language used for grid-systems and standard user interfaces but my PRs demonstrate how it can be used, without JavaScript, to make really vibrant user experiences.
